Poufee making with Cream Tea Lunch! (all-day Workshop)
Sew would you like to spend a sunny Saturday in June making a pouffe foot-stool! … in the morning we will make the inner to the pouffe and fill! … Stop for a cream tea lunch - hopefully outside in the sunshine! … then continue to make a pretty piped fabric loose cover to go over your pouffe. You can make a circular or square pouffe the choice is yours!
You will need to be fairly confident on a sewing machine (Sew Dotty will show you how to make step by step and a demo on how to achieve a piped edge). Sew Dotty to supply all - although if you would like a particular fabric then you will need to bring 1.5m for the cover. Sew Dotty will supply the machines and a yummy cream tea lunch with nibbles too! (please advise re dietary requirement upon booking). A fab workshop sewing with like minded people and you will go home with a fabulous pouffe for your home handmade by you!

Absolute Beginners
Sew! Did Santa bring you a new sewing machine … or do you have a sewing machine still in its box or would you just like to dust off your machine and have a full refresher to get you started? … this workshop is perfect for ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS and is the starting point to getting you sewing with confidence! … Sew Dotty shows you how to thread up your machine, wind up bobbins, use different stitches and why, sewing backwards, sewing around corners, changing needles & sew on! … plus you will make a beautiful cushion at the end of the workshop to take home with you!
This is a longer workshop to allow for the teaching elements of sewing to get you started & for making your cushion too - step by step guidance … plus price includes your cushion, fabrics and a cushion pattern & instructions to take home to make another cushion to practice your new found skills!
Oh and tea, coffee, cold drinks plus Dotty’s homemade cake too!

Puff Quilt
Sew you are getting more & more confident at quilting & patchwork and would like to try something new then this workshop is for you! Over the 3 sessions you will make a Puff Quilt which is fun to make and looks amazing with oodles of texture and bouncy-ness! There is a technique to this that you will learn step-by-step with Sew Dotty. This will be achieved over 3 classes (with some homework required too!) … Classes 1&2 will be cutting out square and sewing up your little puffs, filling these as you go with stuffing! & joining them to make your quilt. Class 3 will be adding a backing & wadding, making a folded border to the quilt and adding stitches to secure the back to the puffs at the front! (All will be become clear!)
You will need to be fairly confident on a sewing machine and Sew Dotty will provide the lining for the puff square, stuffing & wadding/batting - you will need to bring a backing fabric (single duvets are great for this & cheap) and also a mixture of fabrics for the main quilts - I can advise how much you will need).
Across all 3 classes we will of course have homemade cake and hot & cold drinks will be plentiful!

Summer Cotton Pyjamas & PJ Shorts
This worshop is a great introduction for beginners in dress-making. We will work from a simplicity sewing pattern for this workshop - cutting from a sewing pattern. Sew Dotty will show you how to use a sewing pattern and what they signs & symbols mean! We will make up the pyjama’s step-by-step and sew them up in no tie at all! We will tread ribbon or elastic for the waistband and learn how to hem so they fit to size!
Prior to the workshop Sew Dotty will advise you on how much polycotton fabric you will need accoding to your size. We will of course stop for a well earned cuppa and homemade cake too!

Upskill in Sewing: Button Holes
Sew you are getting confident at sewing and would like to look to upskill? … this workshop is for you! We will learn all about button-holes and how to make these using your sewing machine.
You will need to be fairly confident on a sewing machine (Sew Dotty will show you how to make step by step and a demo on how to achieve a button holes) … once we have mastered button-holes we will make a beautiful cushion cover with a button hole opening using our new skill!
Sew Dotty will supply all sew just bring you! … we will of course have homemade cake and hot & cold drinks will be plentiful!

Baby Quilt & Play Mat
Sew do you fancy a smaller quilting project which can be completed in a few hours then this is the working for you!
Over 2 sessions you will make a Baby Quilt & Play Mat. Cutting out patchwork square, sewing these into rows and creating your quilt. We will add wadding, a backing and edge with bias binding and a pretty ric-rac ribbon edge! … this will make a fabulous washable play mat and we will also make a drawstring bag to match which will make taking toys & quilt on the go easier!) Sew Dotty will shop you how to achieve all of this step-by-step. This will be achieved over 2 classes … Class 1 will be cutting out squares and sewing up rows to achieve your quilt & play mat. We will then fix the wadding & backing with repositioning spray and at Class 2 you will add quilting lines to your quilt … stitch in the ditch! and then adding your edging and ric rac detail. Finally we will then make up a drawstring bag too!
You will need to be fairly confident on a sewing machine and Sew Dotty will provide the wadding, bias binding & ric rac for your quilt. You will need to bring a backing fabric (single duvets are great for this & cheap) and also a mixture of fabrics for the main quilt- I can advise how much you will need - it will be approx half a metre of each fabric).

We will learn a new quilt block per month - January - December using a 16 square block with differing designs! This month it will be a Peeping Cats quilt block! Sew Dotty will show you how, step-by-step to achieve this block!

Upholstered & Lined Storage Crates with Cream Tea! (all-day Workshop)
Sew would you like to spend a sunny Saturday in June learning basic upholstery and making an upholstered vintage storage crate! … in the morning we will make the upholstered top to the vintage crate & line the underside of the lid with a matching or contrasting fabric … Stop for a cream tea lunch - hopefully outside in the sunshine! … then continue to make a lining bag which is actually a removable bag so you can grab the contents of your crate in one go (particularly good if you use your crate as a laundry crate … whip out the lined bag and take it to the washing machine!) … genius!
You will need to be able to use a sewing machine (Sew Dotty will show you how to make step by step and a demo on how to achieve you removable lining bag). Sew Dotty to supply all - (and this is reflected in the price) … included is the crate, foam, MDF, lining fabric, outer fabric, velcro & sew on! I have lots of fabrics to choose from but you may like to bring your own fabric to fit your home colour scheme (I can advise on how much fabric you will need).
Sew Dotty will supply the machines, tools needed for upholtery and a yummy cream tea lunch with nibbles too! (please advise re dietary requirement upon booking). A fab workshop sewing & making with like minded people and you will go home with a fabulous lined & upholstered storage crate for your home handmade by you!
