Learn to Sew - 4 Session Course
Sew!… have you always wanted to learn the basics of sewing with a sewing machine! … This absolute beginners learn to sew course is all you need to enable you to Sew! … Look no further! … this 4 session course will teach you the sewing basics to increase your knowledge and confidence to sew more! Over 4 weeks we will:
Session 1: ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS and is the starting point to getting you sewing with confidence! … Sew Dotty shows you how to thread up your machine, wind up bobbins, use different stitches and why, sewing backwards, sewing around corners, changing needles & sew on! … plus you will make a beautiful Patchwork Pin Cushion at the end of the workshop to take home with you for your sewing space!
Session 2: At this workshop we will recap on Session 1 and put our sewing skills to the test making a 9 square patchwork cushion size 40cm x 40cm with an envelope style opening. You will have step by step guidance by Sew Dotty!
Session 3: We are going to make your first bag! … learn how to cut out from a pattern, make bag strapping, a pocket and learn the art of boxing corners sew that your bag takes on a 3 dimensional look!
Session 4: Our last session will be mastering zips! … do not be afraid as I will break this down into easy bitesize chunks for learning. We will sew up purses, pencil cases etc, using oilcloth fabric!
This 4 session course is all you need to be able to sew as an absolute beginner! The price includes your cushion, fabrics, cushion inner, bag & cushions patterns & instructions to take home to make more & practice your new found skills! Oh and tea, coffee, cold drinks plus Dotty’s homemade cake too at each session! I have sewing machines you can use or if you prefer you can bring your own!

Valentine Heart Wreaths
Make a pretty handmade with love valentines heart wreath! … an easy workshop where you can machine or hand sew hearts to create your wreath. Use felt or fabric to sew up your hearts. Experiment with wire words and add these to your wreath too.
If you fancy crafting only and no sewing … the heart shaped rag wreath would be a great option to make plus the felt heart wreath.
Tea & cake too! … a lovely relaxed work shop …nothing difficult here! … handmade with LOVE.

Beginners Learn to Cross-stitch (2 sessions)
Sew! have you always wanted to give cross-stitch a try but never really knew where to start? … this workshop has that covered! At this workshop you will choose a Bothy Treads cross stitch pack which contains everything you need to make a picture or a greetings card (card included in the kit). Step by step our experienced cross-stitcher will show you how! You will learn all the different stitches, counting in and using different threads, understanding your pattern, techniques, hints & tips to cross-stitch with ease! What’s more you will learn this at my cosy workshop surrounded by like-minded people & endless cuppas & homemade cake too! I hope you can join us!

English Paper Piecing for Beginners
Sew! have you always wanted to give EPP (English Paper Piecing) a try? … then this workshop is for you! … learn the art of traditional hand-sewing patchwork.
You will be shown step-by-step the how to do EPP. This is a small project using a variety of shapes (great for using up your scraps of fabric!). We will have fabric scraps you can use or of course bring your own too if you prefer! (You only need tiny scraps!).
This workshop is a great introduction into EPP and you will make a EPP pin cushion at this 3 hour workshop - a perfect pin cushion for you to use at home so you can admire your new skill learnt!
What’s more you will learn EPP at my cosy workshop surrounded by like-minded people & endless cuppas & homemade cake too! I hope you can join us! You will also be given patterns to take home sew you can make more too!

Intermediate Bag Making: Slouch Bag with lock clasp
Sew you have learnt bag making in the past and need to up your game!? … then this bag making workshop is perfect for you!
We will make a lovely large slouch bag with the boxed corners method, add a pocket, label, lining , a fabric shoulder strap with “D” rings and then a lovely shiny metal lock close clasp to keep you bag closed! We will also use iron on interfacing to give our bag some shape!
I made my bag from corduroy (not stretchy!) … I think for this workshop why don’t you use your own fabric - you will need 1m (nothing stretchy please - a thick cotton fabric, canvas, cotton twill, denim, or corduroy (thick) will all work really well! I will supply the lining, that way you get your bag in exactly the fabric you would like!

Intermediate Bag Making: Zipped Pocket Messenger Bag
Sew you have learnt bag making in the past and need to up your game!? … then this bag making workshop is perfect for you!
In this 3.5 hour workshop we will make a roomy messenger bag with a zipped outer pocket with adjustable strap using bag hardware, lined with internal pocket & a magnetic clasp to close. This messenger bag will have added dimension with boxed corners method. We will also use iron on interfacing to give our bag some shape!
I made my bag from a thick cotton (used for cushion & curtains) (not stretchy!) … I think for this workshop why don’t you use your own fabric - you will need 1m (nothing stretchy please - a thick cotton fabric, canvas, cotton twill, denim, or corduroy (thick) will all work really well! I will supply the lining, zips, bag hardware etc - Bringing your own fabric will ensure that way you get your bag in exactly the fabric you would like!

Circles Bag (with lots of pockets)
Sew you have learnt bag making in the past and need to up your game!? … then this bag making workshop is perfect for you!
In this 3 hour workshop we will make a pretty tote bag with loads of pockets! … and add nylon bag strapping with a “Handmade with Love” tag too! This Tote bag will have added dimension with boxed corners method. We will also use iron on interfacing to give our bag some shape! Made entirely from circles of fabric you will have to wait and see how it makes up!
I will supply the fabric and the lining & everything you need for this workshop … oh and plenty of hot & cold drinks & homemade cake too!

Shoulder Tote Bag with pocket from Re-cylcled Jeans!
Sew you have learnt bag making in the past and fancy a bag with a difference … made from re-cycled jeans!
In this 3 hour workshop we will make a pretty tote bag with loads of pockets from your jeans! We will utilise the pockets, labels & waistbands from a pair of your old jeans (or a pair from your charity shop). Bring these with you & Sew Dotty will brief you on how you can utilise them to make a small or larger shoulder tote bag. This Tote bag will have added dimension with boxed corners method.
I will supply the lining & everything you need for this workshop … oh and plenty of hot & cold drinks & homemade cake too! … just bring a pair of old jeans!

Sew Easy Tote Bags! - Parent & Child
Sew easy! … children over 8 (accompanied with parent) … parents this may be a great time for you to refresh your sewing skills too! We will cut out from a sewing pattern, learn straight stitch & zig zag stitch, sewing around corners & make a pretty Tote Bag with colourful handles! All fabrics, sewing machines & all you need provided by Sew Dotty! Sew Dotty also has special colour-in fabric in a Tea Party & Space theme complete with fabric pens (also part of the price). Make a fab Tote bag and then colouring in to make it yours! I also have a huge range of adorable fabrics to choose from if colouring-in isnt your thing!
Children aged 8-11 years will need to be accompanied by an adult for safety when using a sewing machine - you can both make & sew at the same time!
You will love this workshop, nothing too difficult, just time to sew, beautiful fabrics and of course cold and hot drinks & homemade cake too!
